I was invited to stay in the Kahakuloa Valley (K-Land) at my friend Matty's house.

This is where I slept. It's outside on their wrap-around deck.

This was my view when I woke up.

In the morning we fixed a ding in Matty's surfboard.

Neal Norris, Matty's dad, has been shaping surfboards for over 30 years. These are some shots of his shaping shop.

Took a little break in between shifts last Thursday(6-05-08) to go shoot some photos on Kaanapali. It's days like this that remind me of how lucky I am to be in such a beautiful place.

This is my office. The beach is about 20ft. out from where the guy is sitting.

The sunset started GOING OFF during my evening shift. Didn't think I was going to be able to get any photos of it because I was working, but my boss Orrin is rad and let me run out to the beach for ten minutes to get some!

Heavenly...

So yesterday morning I was working at my restaurant, and we had come to a slow point in the day. I had just run some food to a table and was making my way back to the food line when I came around the corner and ran into the legendary Carlos Santana (again).. haha. I got to greet him with Aloha and asked him how his day was going. He just smiled and said that his day was going well.
Anyways, just thought i'd post this because I love that Maui provides me with fun little life moments. There's a quote from one of my favorite movies that says, "the core of mans' spirit comes from new experiences...". So get out there and make some new experiences... trust me, you'll be glad you did.

Home Is Where The Heart Is..

So after taking 700+ photos on my journey back home, I thought i'd create a slide show to share with my loved ones. Semi-artistic. Semi-black and white. Family, friends, skateboarding, a little artistic expression, and the places and people who stole my heart. These are my favorite photos of the bunch....

Just wanted to give a special thanks to those of you that spent time with me while I was home. I loved every minute of it. For those of you that I didn't get to spend enough or any time with, I look forward to seeing you all at the end of the summer when I move back to Boise. Love you All.
